Hair Funk

I've been trying to grow my hair out for the longest time. But once my hair hits about shoulder length, I feel like it stops growing, looks boring, and I chop it off.

Like a few summers ago when I got this super cute A-line cut!

Recently though, I had gotten really close to achieving the long(er) hair I so desire. And then... I got this awful mullet cut. It was kind of my fault. You see, I'm not all that picky about my hair. I mean, it's hair. It'll grow back. Whatever. So I tell the girl that I'm trying to grow out my hair, but I need my dead ends trimmed because I pick at split ends and it's bad. So her way of cleaning up my hair while retaining the length? This mullet 'do.


I know what you're thinking. It does not even look that bad, and it is not even a mullet. Wrong. Weird, choppy layers in front, tons of texture, and way longer in the back. Like, it was a V shape. I was initially terribly upset, but me being the down-to-earth girl I am, quickly got over it. It's hair. And it wasn't a bad cut, just not my style. As much as I'd like to pull off the edgy, alternative kind of look, it's just not me. So recently I went and got the back trimmed up, and now it looks a million times better. 

And I'm bored. Again. I was planning on treating myself to an ombre hair color, but I've decided to put that off and buy myself a tattoo for my birthday in December instead. So, I've been collecting pictures of ladies with lovely long hair, to remind myself to be patient and stop picking my split ends. Besides, I want to have long hair for Jenna's wedding next summer (:

Monday Funday

I never seem to get as much done on my days off as I mean to. For one thing, I tend to take advantage of this time to sleep. It's so hard for me to get out of bed when there's nothing particularly pressing I have to do.  Also, I always have about five loads of laundry to do, so that takes up quite a bit of time. Cleaning my car has been on my to-do list for the past eight or so weeks in a row, and I have yet to get to it... oops! BUT I did have time to cook a proper breakfast for myself, sip on a pumpkin spice latte, try a couple new recipes, and I have an empty hamper and a pile of freshly laundered clothes. So that's nice. Maybe I'll even get around to painting my toenails later...

The weather here has changed drastically in the past week. Changes in weather always seem to have strange effects on my life. My skin and hair get wonky, my allergies start acting crazy, I get moody, and it seems like other people have been acting off as well. Maybe it's all in my head; I don't know. Dear Wednesday

Dear September, you mark the beginning of my favorite season. I can't wait for sweaters and hot cocoa!

Dear Keiko Lynn, your wildflowers post came at exactly the right time for me. I'm relieved to know that I'm not the only one who is experiencing, or has experienced, a quarter life crisis. Who knew such a thing existed?

Fall Wish List

Although the weather is still pretty summer-like, September definitely marks the beginning of Fall for me. Fall has been my favorite season for as long as I can remember, and since this year I'm living in a place that actually has four distinct seasons, I'm extra excited! I've collected a little wish list of items I've been eyeballing with the changing seasons in mind. After putting this list together I've come to realize (not for the first time) that I need to be more adventurous with my color schemes! Happy Autumn!
